You may have heard the term “Hosting” but what is it?
ALL websites must be “hosted” (or “housed” as it’s sometimes know), in order for it to be visible on the internet. You may have a fantastic website that’s been built but if it’s not “hosted” then no one will see it on the internet!
The hosting is obviously extremely important and can affect potential leads if for any reason the server that hosted your website went down. For this reason we have chosen not to host websites ourselves but have partnered with a company in the UK who can guarantee your website will be up and running 99.9% of the time! They have dedicated staff that work on a helpdesk 24hrs x 7 days a week and we are able to log fault calls with them should it be required. They have back up servers and a disaster recovery site should a disaster situation arise. We have worked with the company for over 10 years and they have a proven track record with us.
The hosting will not cost you anymore because we are using another company to provide it; we have an agreed partnership with them. The sole reason we work with them is to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service possible.
Hosting can be purchased for 12 months. It must be renewed the month before it is due if you want to renew for a further 12 months. If you do not renew, your website will not longer be visible on the internet. We will notify you when the hosting is due for renewal. At renewal time we will also provide you with statistics from a report so you can see how many visitors you have had and which were your busiest months for visitors.
There are 2 options for the hosting:-
- Standard hosting for a static website (a static website is one without a database or search facility) €120.00 euros per annum
- Advanced hosting for a database website (ie like an estate agency that has a database for all the properties on it´s books) €150.00 euros per annum
