HTML

An acronym for Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML codes are interpreted by the web browser to format documents in a particular way.

PHP

The PHP Hypertext Preprocessor is a programming language that allows web developers to create dynamic content that interacts with databases. PHP is basically used for developing web based software applications.

ASP

Active Server Pages. A specification that enables Web pages to be dynamically created using HTML, scripts, and reusable ActiveX server components.

ASP.NET

NET is Microsoft's new programming technology which is now gaining acceptance and momentum. Soon, it will completely replace standard ASP. While .NET development is not as rapid (leading to higher production costs), it is significantly more stable, and runs much faster than older programming technologies, opening up new possibilities for web development.

Visual Basic

Visual Basic (VB) is a programming environment from Microsoft in which a programmer uses a graphical user interface to choose and modify preselected sections of code written in the BASIC programming language. Visual Basic is also widely used to write working programs.
